Reserve a unique yurt or pitch your own tent - or reserve a yurt site with additional tent sites! When you camp at #1 Rock Tavern River Kamp, you are just footsteps away from a clean and well-maintained comfort station - offering hot showers, toilets and sinks.
Primitive camping is available to experienced campers who wish to hang in their hammocks or camp in the pines. Primitive campers will need to be able to walk or drive to bathhouse from the site, which is located on the Bluebird Trail over by the Tavern. Primitive campers: expect a camping experience similar to camping at the Shenandoah National Park. Our "no frills" primitive camping site offers a place to pitch a tent, hang a hammock in the trees, and the fire ring doubles as a charcoal grill. Special check in instructions apply for primitive camping. Call Annette Cates at (540) 843-4232 before you arrive.

All guests may reserve tubes, canoes, and kayaks at our #1 Rock Tavern River Kamp (rental rates apply). Complimentary shuttles are available with advance notice. Tubing trips are approximately 2 1/2 hour floats, or less, depending upon river level at the time.
River Access Fee: When you bring your own tubes, kayaks, or canoes, you will be charged a river access fee that applies to your entire stay, per site, minimum of $25.00 based upon how many and what you bring. The one-time river access fee applies to the 1850's Massanutten Springs Retreat, the 1947 Rock Tavern Retreat and the #1 Rock Tavern River Kamp yurt and tent site rentals.
